It's officially October!

You guys, it's officially October! Our favorite month of the year! The month where candy corn hits the shelves at our favorite retailers, where costumes fly off the shelves at our local stores, and where our website hits a backup thanks to popular items that people simply can't get enough of. There's really nothing like October, when the leaves on the trees turn from green to vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow, when apple picking and pumpkin carving are the activities of choice. Of course, we're biased, because October is Halloween month, and as costume retailers, we love to talk costumes, makeup and props, twenty four seven. October is the one month we can do so without anyone complaining. We've got lots of costume ideas coming up on the blog for you, but below, we encourage you to start searching for your costume today.

Here's where to find the following:

Boy's Costumes

Couple's Costumes

Get a Head Start on your Halloween Shopping!

It might only be September, but Halloween is going to be here before you know it! It's time to start thinking about costume ideas. It's time to start planning that Halloween party you've been meaning to throw for years, the one you promised your kids would actually happen this year. You've got to figure out what the kids want to be, and where to get their costumes. You'll need to start stocking up on candy before it flies off the shelves and you're unable to get any of your favorites. It might seem a bit early to start the planning, but the truth is, it's almost October, and once the month of October hits, people go Halloween crazy, snagging costumes off the shelves left and right. Before you you know it, the costumes you were counting on are going to be sold out, the candy shelves in your local Target and Walmart are going to be purged of all the good candy options, and all the party decorations will be sold out. Last year, you waited until the last minute to get organized for Halloween, but this year is going to be different! No more waiting! You're going to be organized. And we're going to help.

Looking for girl's costumes? You'll find them right here.
Need awesome little boy's costumes? Toddler outfits? We've got 'em.
Party decorations are right this way. Adult costumes can be found by clicking here.

Now, get that shopping list ready and let's go!

Looking for Blood and Gore? We've got it.

When it comes to going all out for Halloween, sometimes you just want to get down and dirty. And when we say down and dirty, we mean really, really dirty - as in, decked out in blood and gore. We're not just talking to the gents. Who says ladies don't want to get their hand dirty now and again? If you're looking to gore it up this Halloween, we've got what you need. Into vampires? We've got custom deluxe fangs that will turn you from Bella to Edward, and blood paste to make that addiction to real live humans seem real. You can even go the extra step with our oversized Vampire ears. All the better to hear you with, my dear....

Staging a full on scene? We've got Hollywood blood to make that faux murder victim seem as real as it gets. More creepy than gory, we've also got a Wizard Nose and Chin set that's sure to help you mimic Albus Dumbledore or even Voldemort himself. To Hogwarts, you go!

If blood, guts and gore is your thing, Halloween Adventure is your place. Now, get shopping

Heidi Klum and Seal spotted at our New York megastore!

Did you know that Halloween Adventure doesn't just have a great online store, but also a bunch of brick and mortar stores around the country? That's right, you can do your shopping in person! Each store has unique merchandise that's catered to the demographic. That means your store will be different from a store across the country, and vice versa. All products ship out of our warehouse in Wisconsin, so the high-quality is preserved throughout, but you'll find varying items at each store.

Our New York megastore, which is one of the biggest stores of all, is located at:
104 4th Avenue and 808 Broadway at 11th Street (two entrances)
New York, NY, 10003

This location is just a few blocks south of Union Square, and can be accessed by taking the 4, 5, 6, N, R and W subway lines to the Union Square stop. This store is open year round, and was recently featured in a variety of celebrity weeklies and online blogs thanks to a surprise visit from costume fanatics Heidi Klum and Seal. Heidi and Seal are known for their elaborate Halloween costumes, and it seems they took the kids on a fun outing to our store just last week.

MTV Movie Awards 2011

Did you watch the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night? Per usual, the Twilight kids took a sweep, winning multiple awards in multiple categories, and often beating out our beloved Harry Potter to do so. What about you guys? Do you prefer Harry Potter or Twilight? We know everyone loves Edward and Bella (they won Best Kiss, of course), but we've long been fans of Harry Potter. We feel the book series and the films are much more developed and mature - and basically, are worlds better than the Twilight films. Basically, you can't even compare. It seems whoever is voting on the MTV Movie Awards disagrees with us, however. Twilight took home best movie, and Robert Pattinson won three awards - for best male performance and best fight scene as well as best kiss along with Kristen Stewart, who also won for best female performance. Meanwhile, Harry Potter star Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the series, represented the HP team with a win for best villain (well deserved, if you ask us!).

We're not sure who wins in terms of purchases made on our site. Our Harry Potter costumes tend to fly off the shelves year after year, as do our Twilight costumes and Twilight props. Harry Potter wands are always best sellers, as are the popular Gryffindor scarf (we own three...). Meanwhile, our Edward wigs are always at the top, as are our random Twilight products, such as this great set of six magnets. If you're looking for Halloween costumes, or costumes for any time of year, we've got them.
